Welcome to Pathovex!

The Pathovex project is targeted for analysis of pathogen- and vaccine-related gene expression Omics analysis. The Omics data analysis incluldes both trascriptional RNA level and proteomics protein level. In addition to the gene expression itself, we also represent and analyze the experimental factors associated with the gene expression profile analysis.

Our first use case study is on Brucella. We study both the pathogen-side and host-side gene expression profiles. Brucella is a Gram-negative, facultative intracellular coccobacillus. Brucella causes brucellosis, one of the most common zoonotic diseases in humans and a variety of animal species. Only a handful of vaccines have been licensed for animal use, and none for human use. The host-Brucella interactions have been extensively studied using high-throughput Omics technologies. In this study, we report the development of a database compiling published microarray gene expression data of Brucella and infected host cells under various experimental conditions. Both in vitro and in vivo gene expression profiles were collected and analyzed from peer-reviewed articles.

In addition to the meta-analysis from various paper publications, we will also analyse the raw data.

This project is initiated in Dr. Yongqun "Oliver" He's laboratory. Any collaboration and feedback are welcome. Thank you.
