Briefly, OAE is developed by aligned with the Basic Formal Ontolgy (BFO) developed by Dr. Barry Smith and by following the OBO Foundry principles. OAE is generated using OWL format and edited with the Protege OWL ontology editor.

3. What is the coverage of OAE?

OAE covers any adverse events induced by manual administration of a material entity such as drug and vaccine. OAE was originally targeted for vaccine adverse events and now also include drug adverse events.
